Scope and Contents Jefferson had Souche make a wooden copy of the bronze askos from the ruins of the Maison Carrée at Nîsmes as a gift for Charles Louis Clèrisseau, who drafted the plans and arranged for the construction of the model for the new capitol in Richmond without compensation.
