Marc Leepson Research Collection, 1996 -
Scope and Contents
The Marc Leepson Research Collection consists of research files and correspondence compiled and collected by author and historian Marc Leepson as part of his work on his 1998 article published in Preservation Magazine, “The Levys of Monticello,” and his 2001 book, Saving Monticello. Files cover the history of the Levy family and those closest to them, family correspondence, and media coverage about the Levys.
The research files are organized by people and subject, and span eight archival boxes. Another six boxes contain drafts of the book manuscript with and without annotations, correspondence between Leepson and various publishers, publication history, and media coverage of book talks.
The last two archive boxes contain printed copies of the “Saving Monticello Newsletter” published monthly by Leepson, and available online here.
