Abstract
Charles Suddarth Kelly (1920-2008) was a self-trained Thomas Jefferson scholar and photographer. He spent time traveling in Europe documenting Jefferson’s itinerary during the journey through southern France in spring of 1787. Mr. Kelly also researched and wrote about Jefferson’s architecture. This archive includes research and writing notes as well as many photographs taken in Europe, Washington DC, New York City, and Virginia.
