Agnes Gish Papers
Abstract
Research compiled by historian Agnes Gish on the Jefferson Family connection to the Eppes Family, Harris Family, and others through the will of Ann Harris and tracts of land known as Swann’s Creek Plantation, Indian Camp, and French’s Tavern of Ballsville, Powhatan County, Virginia which sits upon said land.
Note: Eppes/Epes is spelled differently in different documents and it appears to be a matter of preference more commonly spelled Eppes, whereas Epes appears more frequently the farther back in the genealogical records one reads. The spelling of the surname has taken on the following 3 main forms in America - Epes, Eppes, Epps.
